As you may have heard we have a new friend at PES! Humphrey the Hamster has arrived and we have started our "OneSchool, One Book" adventure with "The World According to Humphrey". Every student has received a copy of this book in their native language and we will be reading this book together as a school and community! We encourage you to read along with your students at home. Please see this PES Humphrey Letter we sent home, along with a schedule of when we will be reading our chapters so you can follow along! Humphrey will be visiting classrooms and having adventures all over PES so stay tuned to our social media pages for all the fun!
Red Ribbon Week highlights the importance of living a drug-free life. It presents an opportunity for parents, educators, and communities to reinforce the drug-free messages they share with their children throughout the year. We are recognizing Red Ribbon Week with daily announcements, and by providing our students with Red Ribbon Week items promoting this important message.

Tonight we celebrated our new school friend’s birthday 🥳 🐹 PES students and families came back to school for a very fun-filled academic night 🎉 Humphrey’s birthday celebration included academic games and crafts, a book raffle, cupcakes, sundae bar & more🧁 Families also got to meet Humphrey, see the book we’ll be reading, and view a video recording of our pep rally from school today 🐾❤️

You may have heard from a panther that today at school we had what can only be described as the most epic pep rally to kickoff our One School One Book journey with the newest member of our school family 🐹🎉 There was a lot of excitement leading up to the pep rally with a surprise birthday party invitation for academic night and daily clues for students. We revealed our new school pet, Humphrey, and book we will all be reading at school, in our community, and at home!! 📕 Our pep rally included a special guest hamster with performances like a cheer, rap and hamster dance! 🎥 ❤️ 🐾

PES got to celebrate World Food Day today, 10/16/2023 🌎 World Food Day is focused on supporting local farmers, growing your own gardens, and reducing food waste. Students got a tasty apple treat from Shore Gourmet Denton Market, a yummy local apple from Blades Orchard, and learned some punny trivia with Choptank Community Health System 🍎 👩🏻🌾 🍏 👨🏽🌾 Thank you to our wonderful community partners for making this special event possible 🪴
