Today in 5th grade science we did a super fun investigation! We used an electrical circuit the students created in class (with a battery, wires and a lightbulb,) heat lamps, a laser pointer and a magnet to determine whether or not a metal spoon, an iron nail, a popsicle stick, a plastic spoon and aluminum foil could be a conductor of heat, a conductor of electricity, a reflector or magnetic. We made predictions beforehand and some students were very amazed at what the data actually showed after the investigation! #pespantherpride

PES will be honoring the Hispanic holiday of Dia de Muertos (Day of the Dead) on Wednesday, November 1, 2023. This celebration is a happy holiday focused on deceased loved ones, keeping their memories alive, and celebrating the continuation of life beyond the one we live here on Earth. We are inviting all students and staff to bring in one picture of a loved one who has passed to be displayed on our school-wide Ofrenda. Photos should be turned in no later than Friday, October 27th. This form is being sent home today with all of our Panthers.

Kindergarten tried beets, dried prunes, chickpeas, and ruby red grapefruit juice! We liked some things and other things weren’t our favorite but we learned not to yuck anyone else’s yum! We are so thankful to Miss Rena and the Maryland SNAP-ED Program for this new opportunity this year. Every month Miss Rena, on two separate days, will visit kindergarten and first grade. On those days she will read a book and also have new foods to taste! Yummy! #pespantherpride

Choptank Health hosted a walking club over the CCPR/CCPS Summer Program. Our very own Ryker had the most steps of anyone! Way to go Ryker! 😊 #pespantherpride
